Default Scrabble Cubes scores...

Alright, so using the critisizism of rahhny and Johan, im scoring 650-750 every game now, and the ticker in the trial says that id beat over 98-100% of the recent scrabble scores. That seems quite generious to me, and im just wondering from you guys, how you think those scores would actually do in a 5 players 3.75$ winning match or a 2 player match. I think that ticker is misleading.

Well, it depends on your rank. As for the starting rank, 650-750 would definitely win, as long there's no cheats or anyone with a re-made account in there (That is, a person who's much higher-ranked, but made a new account to feed off the lower players, which is prohibited.)

It's not a high likelihood, but it's possible. Your scores are very solid for your rank and you should expect to win on a regular basis until you move up in rank.

I'd agree with Johan.

I think you'll find that your scores will improve with time...and if you play some other online boggle games that show you the solution at the end, you could learn some words and how to spot them...then your scores should really improve.

Strictly in terms of playing the game, most of the top players have grown together...i.e. like a year ago, a 1000+ score was plenty to take home the daily and in some cases the monthly...now adays, you'll need an 1100+ for the monthlies and even in some dailies!

The top scores have progressed as well...1200+ was almost unheard of 1 year ago, now we have 3 or 4 legit players who have broken it...so the players are evolving which correlates almost entirely to games played. Which is why when a fresh face shows up and breaks 1100, it is highly suspicious...

I would suspect that you are one who will continue to improve....good luck!

Yeah, someday I'll break 1200. From what I know, four legit players have done it. Haven't you done it like three or four times now, Rahn?

Personally, my high is only 1157. But I have been averaging far better in the past few months compared to six months to a year ago. I used to score 1000+ maybe five or six times a month. Now I'm able to do it ten or more times a day, mostly in practice.

Practice is good. Playing Boggle also helps as the game is more like Boggle than Scrabble (layout wise).

Anyways, good luck.

Any chance you guys could give me the link or names of some online boggle games you have played. I'm looking to improve my vocabulary for scrabble, and that would help immensly. Anyways, how would you guys all think about playing like bookworm, or other wordgames to improve in that aspect. Any links or names of games you think would help would be greatly appreciate

For the most part I play Prolific (at Facebook). But they use a different dictionary, so if you are looking to up your vocabulary for ScrabbleCubes, this would not be ideal as half the words that are valid at Prolific do not work in ScrabbleCubes.

I have played everywhere at one time or another so that's how I have managed to amass a pretty decent vocabulary. Whether it be Boggle-esque games such as Word Racer, Tangleword or Serpentine or other types of word games, like Word Yacht and Wordox. I've been playing word games since I was 15 and I still don't have the vocabulary of the likes of Rahn and several other top tier players.

But practice playing regular Boggle or play Serpentine at Cobra Dragon Games - View Home. That and practice, and you should be able to score higher in no time.

scramble on facebook is the best out right now...most of the other games have fallen off (the ones that bryan listed above...)
for just learning words, i have always like jumbletime.com; this is what I used to learn words to play scrabble-proper, you can learn them in themes which makes it slightly easier to retain and you can learn hundreds of words per night...

I think the only problem that you'll run into is that you'll rise to Division I very quickly -- probably before you get the opportunity to play a monthly tournament in Division II or III. That means that you'll be competing with these guys in big tournaments and dailies. That's part of the advantage of playing an occasional cash game as you're improving.

I used to be "highest ranks" in SC, and I never bothered with the dailies or the big tourneys. It was a waste of money for my ability level. I'm now in Div II, which is probably where I belong, and I'm pretty confident that if I decided to use SC as a new focal game -- don't need one at the moment, though, tyvm -- I could probably get the point where I could break 800 more often than once in a blue moon, which is about how often I break 800 now. In the recent SC monthly tourney, 850 would have been enough for a top-5 finish. But I doubt that 850 was even in the money in Div I, though I could be wrong.

Yea, thats what im kind of afraid of. I mean i guess for my division currently those scores will dominate the others, but then ill move up a rank and get completly smashed in any kind of big tourny heh. Thats why before i start anything im just trying to practice practice practice, so that when the time comes ill at least be somewhat in the runnings of later on divisions. Thanks for all the word choice games, im off to play them now!

Yeah, forgot about that one. But I can't play it anymore as I have ridiculous lag. I haven't played Word Racer in years and hardly ever play Serpentine anymore. Just wanted to list games I played to help me with my vocab to this point. I don't really play shit anymore besides Prolific and ScrabbleCubes.

Hey Rahn, remember funster.com? Yeah, that was another I played way back in the day. Finding words in words. Just didn't give you the ones you missed, so can't really learn new words that way.

For the record, Skialot, the top 11 spots in Division I in the latest ScrabbleCubes monthly tournament scored over 1,000. You needed 887 to place. In the previous tournament, the top 14 players scored 1,000.
