Default Word Link tips

the key here is really getting a word using as many colored letters as possible. To do this, don't use ANY of them early on. let them accumlate on the board and try to keep them on 5 rows, so only make regular words using letters in between them...ideally you'll have an entire gold section of the board near the end. when you get down to like 40 sec. left, find the longest all-gold word you can and you'll get a huge score. for a word with 6 colored tiles, you're scoring around 200,000, add a seventh and your going up even more! Some people (not me) have gotten a 10,000,000 point word...so practice doing that and you should be able to get 200,000+ on every layout.

Hey Rahnny, do you have any Word Link vids? I'm going to try & pick up Word Link, since I've kinda maxed out my rank on Bejeweled (competition is a little rough at 8500, lol) and need another game to make some quick cash off of.

Thanks for the tips. I really don't know that. I will apply it a little later. I am excited to try though it takes more practice.

Default word link progressives

progressives are totally different animal. i always play the first try straight up to see what the order of the coloured letters is. the thing with king.com is that the progressives have exactly the same layout and you get 5 tries at the same layout.

i'm pretty slow, so in a typical first run I will get about 12-16 coloured letters. then i write them down and figure out the longest word i can make with these letters, preferably using the first 7-10 letters.

To an extent you can control where the coloured tiles come out (i.e. what 'row' they come out) depending on what row(s) you create words in between the revealing of the next coloured tile. I still haven't figured it out perfectly so oftentimes a letter I need for my monster word might come out in the wrong row.

I have found the 9 and 10 letter words really tough to construct but 7's and 8's are not too bad and if you get all gold tiles (golds and purples depend on whether you form a 6 letter word in between two coloured tiles i think) and form a 7 letter word with all coloured tiles you're looking at a 200k to 400k word alone! If you form an 8 letter word you're looking at 600k to 1 million I think. My personal best is over 1.3 million and I think it was a 9 letter word but it could have been an 8 :P

hope that helps!

brian,
that is true, however, i hate doing that on king.com since the 1st place payout usually isn't worth entering twice!!!

but here's a tip, if you need a letter to come out on a certain row, just make a fake word using the letters in that row to clear them...

if you can make a 10 letter gold word, you can pretty much do fake words the whole time and still score over 10,000,000!

Default oh i know about fake words lol

my 1.3 million had about 7 or 8 fake words to help me finalize the monster word... the penalty for the last fake word was probably 32,000 or so (it doubles starting at 1,000 after the first couple).

first place for my ranking (6,000 to 8,000 ish) in the daily generally ranges from $13 to $18 and entries with the 5% discount are $0.71 each... so it is definitely worth it to enter more than once. I am pretty average on the single entry games.. probably average about 50-60k.

i tried to lalit, but you have to realize to learn this strategy, it actually requires you to play the first game, solve the gold letters, then play the second game and hope you don't screw up! I tried to make the video, it ends up being over 10 minutes and it's hard to follow what's happening...when there is a worthwhile jackpot in my progressive range, I'll try again.
