Interesting... that guy is more deliberate than I am. You can see he is thinking through more advanced combo-forming moves than your typical good player does.

I can pull high score in midas miner, on average more then 60k with ease.

Your top scores come from combo chain dropping, don't go for the single swaps if you can help it. Only do those if they will get you a chain in the next turn.

Use the top two thirds of the board to set up probable chains and use the bottom three lines or so to trigger the chains.

You could argue that the moves lower down the board are the bigger scoring moves, so do more of them. However I have found that if you set the above gems in the correct place to start with you can make even bigger scores with those lower down moves.

Another way to pull a large score is the removal of one gem color type from the board, so when gems drop there is a higher chance of getting chain drops. But that is something that is tricky at the best of times.
