    Default This weeks 3-Card progressive

Since the progressive has been refunded an canceled, I wanted to post the layout to get insight into how you could get past the point I was stuck at.

    The board was as follows:

    Ts Js
    7s
    8d
    4d Kh
    4s 6c
    6s Tc
    9h

    With the deck:

    Ah,As,9d,7d,2c,6h,Jd,Kd,6d,Th,Jh,8c,Ks,2s,4c,Ac,7c ,2h,Qh,2d,8s,Kc,Td,5d

    I played:
    5d, Td FLIP
    9d, 8s FLIP
    7d, Ac FLIP
    2c, As, Ah, 2s, 2h END

Is this the deck everyone else was seeing. There are no 3's available to continue building the finish stacks. No black Q's are available to pull down a red J from the deck and move the black T's. There's only one red 7, and since the two black 6's are on top of each other, there's no way to change how that's played. There are no black 9's to move the 8d. There are no black 5's to move the 4d.

    Please, what am I missing?

Everyone is seeing the same layout in the game. Although this is already ensured, I had checked across multiple accounts anyway and it's consistent.

well your missing nothing! some weird bug got into it.

    here's "my" setup:
stacks on the board (from left to right)
    10 sp
    7 sp, J sp
    8 d
    4 d
    4 sp, K h
    6 sp, 6 cl
    9 h, 10 cl

in the deck (listed in order of view, left to right)
    A h, A sp, 9 d
    7 d, 2 cl, 6 h
    J d, K d, 6 d
    10 h, J h, 8 cl
    K sp, 2 sp, 4 cl
    A cl, 7 cl, 2 h
    Q h, 2 d, 8 sp
    K cl, 10 d, 5 d

you cannot reveal anymore hidden cards for the same reasons afort already told us. plus (as result of the previous mentioned facts) you cannot emtpy a stack on the board so you cannot move the Kh or play a K from the deck.

with the above setup you can score 860.
    play:
    9h, 9d, A sp, A cl, check, check, 6d, check, 8 cl, check, check, 2h, 7 cl, A cl, check, 8 sp, check, 5d, 4 sp
    SPIN
    6h, 2 cl, 7d, 6 sp, check, check, 2 sp

I had exactly the same layout, and did exactly that solution for 860. Has anyone asked charger or lgtrader how they got 1200+?

Well I only played once but I think that's pretty much the layout I had too. I wish charger would sign up with this forum so she can get involved with any discussions, she's a bit of an enigma lol! Although if lgtrader had the high score too, there must have been some sort of bug.

Fligs, is there any way you can get them to look at the issue of dragging the cards across the screen? Am I the only one who gets lag/slowdown when doing so? I think my antivirus (avast) might be affecting the game, so I turned that off and it helps a bit. But I still have the problem when dragging large groups of cards. (Sorry, on top of all the other things to look into!) Thx!

Sure, I'll look into it while doign the Q&A. However, I run Avast as well and do not get any performance issues while playing.

I don't think she is an enigma - just plays a lot...

Just to get some clarification, for those of us still splashing around in the kiddie pool ...

The 3-Card Solitaire Progressive at SKill Addiction this week was "cancelled and refunded" ... due to the game NOT being a solvable one?

So, each Progressive game must be a completely solved game? Or, just this type of Solitaire, or ...?

I hadn't played in this yet and am also curious why it was refunded.

The problem was not that it was unsolvable, almost all the 3-card progressives in 2010 have been unsolvable. The problem was, that as I and lava-lava have discussed above, the maximum possible score was 860. In order to score higher than that, you would have had to be able to uncover more cards on the tableau, but that was not possible. However, both lgtrader and charger put up scores of 1240. The only conclusion I can draw was some sort of wierd scoring bug.

Flignats refunded and canceled the progressive for this reason.

Thanks a lot, afort56! ... now if I can just figure out why WW's freeroll today for Solitaire Rush had the first try solvable, and the second try unsolvable (or basically, WTF I did wrong the 2nd time) ... my day would be complete!
