    Question tax on WorldWinner

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to worlwinner and has just discovered that a tax is taken from every game. That means that a 75c game will give me only 13c if I won... What's the point ?

Is there a way to get those tax back ? I'm in France and I don't know what to do exactly...
    Thanks in advance

    David

I highly dout that anyone will tax your winnings unless you declare them.

As most tax laws on gambling are totally stupid I wouldnt wanna give my hard earned money to the government

WW withholds tax from all foreigners. They have no choice in the matter.

I'm not in that situation myself, but some people at WW say that they have successfully used this site:

Casino Tax Rebate | Casino Tax Refund | US Gambling Tax Refunds

I stopped playing on Skilljam (now WW) as soon as this tax business came along a few years back.

The paypal withdrawal fee is 1 euro? Thats not very much at all - i mean I withdraw about 300 euro at each time then the 1 euro fee is very affordable.

Anyone care to explain WW tax system in detail? Does it apply to all other countries than the US? any way around it?

I've applied for a partial refund of withholdings via my accountant. To the best of my knowledge, if you are an international player, and you are a profitable player, you will get taxed at 30% by the IRS. There is no way around that. However, WW usually overwithholds (even with the new weekly withholdings refunds) your winnings so you can still get some more back. But if your (GROSS WINNINGS - (ENTRY FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THOSE WINNINGS + ADDITIONAL ENTRY FEES) = x (and x > 0), you will have to pay taxes to the IRS for 30% of x, unless your country has some special tax treaty with the US. I'm from Canada so I can't speak for European countries. But in Canada, if WW was based in Canada I probably would not have to pay taxes on WW winnings unless it was my primary source of income.

Hmmz couldn't they just establish a mirror server on some island without any tax laws? Gibraltar etc.?

I mean if they care about international players they could put up the effort to rent a server and send some paperwork
