How many different people need to enter a progressive tourney to make 2, 3, 4, etc. people get paid?
For example, is it:
1-5 unique entrants = 1 paid place
6-8 = 2 paid
9-11 = 3 paid
etc.?
I can't seem to figure it out.

Depends, we're going all screwy right now and doing things all differently. Testing some stuff out. Which tournament you looking at?

This pretty much answers my question. I was looking at Sworbs, where there were 64 entries from 6 different people and the entire $64 was going to the 1st place score. Then there were 68 entries still from 6 people, and the prize was split two ways. I can't figure out what to expect.
