Default Listen up! NEW WEBSITE IN THE WORKS!

I've been hinting at the possibility of starting up my own skill gaming site, and I can now happily say that it WILL happen. This is going to be a serious endeavor to break into the skill gaming industry, and I am going to be launching much bigger than any other entry-level skill gaming site. The goal is to provide a unique player experience that exceeds that of WorldWinner and King.com. You're going to have a fun time, and you'll also earn some serious money along the way.

That said, I do need everyone's help in making this possible . We all know that a skill gaming site's success depends heavily on catering towards its player community, and what better place to get feedback than you guys? So, I have a couple simple questions to ask in hopes of reaching a concensus on important stuff. Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

    And here we go:

    1. What's your favorite game? Favorite genre?

    2. Do you deposit solely by PayPal, or do you use your credit card?

    3. What color theme would you like in your ideal skill gaming site? What do you think of red & black?

    4. Which "fair matching" system do you like more -- King.com or WorldWinner.com? Of the one that you like, how could it be improved?

    5. What should happen to a player that's scoring abnormally high in a game and is suspected of cheating?

    6. WorldWinner's Rewards Points or the King.com bonus meter -- which do you like more?

    7. Cash tournament formats, which do you like more -- WorldWinner or King?

    1. What's your favorite game? Favorite genre?

    Big Money... duh, lol.

    2. Do you deposit solely by PayPal, or do you use your credit card?

PayPal only but I think the CC option should be available to people who want to use it. Make it as easy for people to give you money as possible

    3. What color theme would you like in your ideal skill gaming site? What do you think of red & black?

Anything but Green, Yellow or White.

    4. Which "fair matching" system do you like more -- King.com or WorldWinner.com? Of the one that you like, how could it be improved?

I like King's system, but I don't like how once you get good at a game you are in ghost town.

    5. What should happen to a player that's scoring abnormally high in a game and is suspected of cheating?

I think that if you catch them, you should at least refund the entry fees to the players who lost to them. ESPECIALLY if you catch them because they are reported by those players. Also, I think it shouldn't be so secretive. If they are PROVEN to be cheating there shouldn't be a reason NOT to say you caught them and they are gone. People know that cheats exist. Hiding it is pointless, but if you acknowledge the problem and make a point to show when you DO put a stop to it, I think it would actually make people feel more secure.

    6. WorldWinner's Rewards Points or the King.com bonus meter -- which do you like more?

    WW's/SA points system by FAR.

    7. Cash tournament formats, which do you like more -- WorldWinner or King?

I like King's smaller tournaments but I like unlimited entries in progressives and I LOVE premiums, which limits my play on King. Winning $3-5 at most is not too exciting.

crescendo catcher....jewel quest but with unique strategy and nice game music. i lost 1000s of hours of sleep in the first month of that game release. hehe. i puzzle games especially switcher games are my fave

    2. Do you deposit solely by PayPal, or do you use your credit card?
    both is always better

    3. What color theme would you like in your ideal skill gaming site? What do you think of red & black?
eeeh i dont much care for those. too dark for me. blue and silver are my favorite colors ever. but WW does blue and the site just looks depressing with dark blue. maybe a light blue with silver? that would be very cool. i like the bright and sunny colors of king. it makes me happy just looking at their webpages. kings environment is tops! and thats one factor that makes it so

    4. Which "fair matching" system do you like more -- King.com or WorldWinner.com? Of the one that you like, how could it be improved?
king hands down. but the problem with king is that if you are too good you will never be matched. i think that first off you should NOT call it a fairness system either. it is unprofessional and subjective and it creates tons of unrealistic perceptions from your customer base. i would suggest a ranking system like kings with ranking numbers and ranking gap matching and such....but tweak the ranks numbers by how much they go up based on winnings and losses and also the ranking gaps where people can be matched. that way people will always be matched and feel that they are being treated fairly too. i wish king would increase their gaps. it would solve everything

    5. What should happen to a player that's scoring abnormally high in a game and is suspected of cheating?
i prefer kings style. where they are soooo good at security and creating cheat free environments that the discussion of cheating never comes up within their community....because we feel highly satisfied in kings security. but i also think that if the subject DOES come up...and you should NEVER go all cult addict/nazi on your customers and ban them just for bringing up honest concerns. it does more damage in the long run. king doesnt even need anomaly soft bans because they just KNOW. but if you cannot get a top notch system like kings i think that the anomaly soft ban is the way to go to give you time to thoroughly check the account for illegitimate activity.

    6. WorldWinner's Rewards Points or the King.com bonus meter -- which do you like more?
WWs rewards points are nice...game credits wise....but kings OLD bonus meter pawns that. If i could by playing alot earn 5%-20% ENTRY FEE DISCOUNTS i would NEVER LEAVE your site. lol everyone LOVED those. and those are definitely better than game credits. by FAR!

    7. Cash tournament formats, which do you like more -- WorldWinner or King?
What do you mean? the tournament layouts? i dont care either way. i like the GAME LIST layouts of king better than WW. i love premium tournaments. i love progressives especially UNLIMITED ENTRY PROGRESSIVES. i like having a balance of smaller and huge tournaments too. but thats really all i have to say on the subject

awesome! hook me up. i would love to do something in player services

isnt about time you stopped calling cashgamers a WW and king fansite and change it to "A skilladdiction and king fansite" XDD

Thanks Danielle. I overlooked the notion of giving back entry fees to those who've been hurt by cheaters...that's an idea I'll definitely put into policy.

Samantha -- if you were to be hired, you wouldn't be able to partake in playing for cash on the site. Maybe if you reach a point where you don't need to win money for a living any longer, and the site makes enough revenue to hire employees...we'll get there.

Yeah, there's nothing worse than a cheat showing up on Friday-Sunday and stomping a few hundred dollars worth of entry fees just to get banned on Monday. I never see that money again, even though WW keeps whatever the cheat won. I can understand not awarding winnings because that would mean a net loss for you as a company, but refunding entry fees just makes it like the game was never played. You don't make a profit, but the legit players don't suffer either.

oh, and I wanted to mention that I love the option to play in the same tournament to better your score. I know opinions are mixed on that, but maybe some games could have the option (10+ players, maybe?) and others wouldn't to satisfy everyone?

    1. What's your favorite game? Favorite genre?

Dynomite, but I'll play anything I can make money at.

    2. Do you deposit solely by PayPal, or do you use your credit card?

Paypal, but I only deposit once!

    3. What color theme would you like in your ideal skill gaming site? What do you think of red & black?

    Don't care

    4. Which "fair matching" system do you like more -- King.com or WorldWinner.com? Of the one that you like, how could it be improved?

I like king because at low skill ranks i can typically make some money. But then I'll level up to the point where I can't play that game anymore. I like WW because if you are fortunate enough to be at the top of your skill division you can print money!

    5. What should happen to a player that's scoring abnormally high in a game and is suspected of cheating?

Put the tournament & player on hold until you can resolve the issue...

    6. WorldWinner's Rewards Points or the King.com bonus meter -- which do you like more?

    WW

    7. Cash tournament formats, which do you like more -- WorldWinner or King?

WW has ladders which I like. king has better progressives. I like that king allows you to open multiple cup entries.. I like that WW survivals aren't per division (sometimes!).

If I could add 1 additional request, it would be a very robust player search tool for those of us who like to issue player to players challenges. And having Battles like king allows would be great too.

    1. What's your favorite game? Favorite genre?

Brickout/Breakout/Spinball, Solitaire, Mahjong/Tile City, Spider Solitaire, 9ball pool. I dabble in other games, but these are my personal favorites. I've lately taken an interest in the Clue Match game (at WW) - not very good at it though lol

    2. Do you deposit solely by PayPal, or do you use your credit card?

I like the flexibility of both.

    3. What color theme would you like in your ideal skill gaming site? What do you think of red & black?

For me personally, Red & Black would be hard on my eyes. If the colors are soft, not bold or harsh.

    4. Which "fair matching" system do you like more -- King.com or WorldWinner.com? Of the one that you like, how could it be improved?

King's seems to be the better of the two. I think calling it something along the lines of "skill matching" versus "fair matching" might be more accurate if that's what you are going for.

    5. What should happen to a player that's scoring abnormally high in a game and is suspected of cheating?

Perhaps players should prove their identities right up front when joining as a player. Otherwise, they can be allowed restricted access (IE Free games only - nothing for cash or points that can be turned into game money to play with.) Some people might be turned off by that, but the legit players shouldn't. And proving IP addresses, not allowing playing by proxy servers, etc? (I'm no techie but you get my gist?) And if someone is caught cheating, I'd suspend them immediately and definitely return or pool the money to the players who didn't cheat ... or put it in a Free Roll game? Something like that ...

    6. WorldWinner's Rewards Points or the King.com bonus meter -- which do you like more?

I like WW's rewards system, but feel it could be better. I haven't played at King long enough as a cash player to determine if King's is better or not. I do like their jewel system.

    7. Cash tournament formats, which do you like more -- WorldWinner or King?

King seems to offer more variety in this area. From small cash games to large progressive ones. I like that. WW's seems more restrictive in terms of choices.

Other ideas: maybe offer a players' forum as well. I'm not sure how feasible this idea is, but some serious gamers might be willing to pay monthly membership fees (like Pogo does) as long as the costs are reasonable. I wonder if such a thing might also help deter cheaters? Dunno .. just thinking out loud here ...

I look forward to your game site dpaul! And incidentally, :: shameless plug font on :: if you need online work from home customer service reps and/or forum moderators, I'm well experienced :: shameless plug font off ::

    1. What's your favorite game? Favorite genre?
    Bejeweled, swap type games
    2. Do you deposit solely by PayPal, or do you use your credit card?
I do paypal, but you should allow both
    3. What color theme would you like in your ideal skill gaming site? What do you think of red & black?
    yeah red/black is cool
    4. Which "fair matching" system do you like more -- King.com or WorldWinner.com? Of the one that you like, how could it be improved?
King, you should definately let people see their skill rank like king does and not hide it like WW.
    5. What should happen to a player that's scoring abnormally high in a game and is suspected of cheating?
suspend, investigate, ban. refund entry fees
    6. WorldWinner's Rewards Points or the King.com bonus meter -- which do you like more?
I like the reward points cause I can get gift cards or game credits. the bonus meter would probably be better for you because you're not giving up anything really. what you give up in bonus you'll get teh %rake back plus the %rake from the opponents entry fee.
    7. Cash tournament formats, which do you like more -- WorldWinner or King?
progressives is where it's at. cups are cool. the ladder from ww is a good format as well. take a little from both. you need the smaller $ ammounts for the more casual gamers, but also have premium types for those who like that sorta thing

skilljam had a vip thing. where you paid a monthly fee and you had some perks like the WW premier club but also you got a higher % back on you winnings. they also had a way where you could set up a league, I guess sort of like battle challenges or ladders that could be open or invite only. Anybody else remember that? I've kind of forgotten over the years.
