The big difference is that in Vegas you are playing against the house in most games. So if you win, it's the HOUSE that is paying. In skill gaming you are playing other players right? The house takes it's rake and it wins when every game is played. The less skilled players are who end up losing.
I've heard the arguments before on this site that winners are good for the site because they drive a lot of action. I'm more on the side that really good players who are really big winners are bad for the site since they suck funds out of the site and don't ever add them. Which means the losers may get discouraged and stop depositing.... And every site needs losers as badly as it needs winners!
Theoretically I hate regulation. Let the market regulate itself. If King screws you, then screw them by not playing there. Or start your own company. Or visit a different site and give them your business.
But having said that, I think ultimately companies are run by humans. And humans are rather untrustworthy and maybe need some sort of regulation to ensure they are being fair and lawful! So ultimately what do you want? Companies that run amock, or companies that are heavily regulated. Both scenarios are kinda ugly really...
So I'm just enjoying myself now, making some good money and I figure at some point I'll get banned/screwed and figure something out when that ultimately happens....
