King treasure quest tournaments!

so i read the fools blog and by the sound of it it seems that king is gonna host their OWN mega tournament types now! but...its kinda disheartening....i know the same problem exists on WW and all....but what are us high rank people who can never seem to be matched in ANY game.....how are we gonna be able to do well in these

Yeah, for those of us in the high ranks, it will be nearly impossible to get enough games to complete while the Treasure Quest is open to place in the money. Just another "feature" on King aimed at getting the average players to play more cash games, there by putting more money in the King's pocket.

This is all about increasing the profitability of King...participating in treasure quests sound like a losing situation for top ranked players. I definitely won't be playing in the $3.20 entries for BJ2...unless I had a good run going, it'd be very hard to come out on top since the entry fee/prize ratio is like 1:2.

Yep, all those entry fees cover the prize pot and more. And I'm sure that just like the "Top Winner" tournaments, the prize pot will be a fixed value, not progressive, so not only will King get people to play more cash games, they will easily cover the "guaranteed prize pot" and pocket the rest of the entry fees over an above that, just like "Top Winner" I seriously doubt i will ever play in one of these, as not only will require a low ranking to have a chance to complete enough games, I don't have the time anymore to play hundreds of games a day.

agreed with all the points already made... King.com has a target market and they are exploiting it well... we just aren't the target market and our wants don't coincide well with theirs

obviously top rankers have no chance in any game, and the only way to win these things would be to lose a lot of money in the process (since you'd have to be a low ranker whose rank doesn't climb along the way)
