Default Would like your feedback on a new game!

    Hello everyone,

I have been away from WW and King.com for a while, because I and my husband and another friend of ours have been working on developing a game of our own!

My main intention is not to just promote our game - if it sounds like that, and it's a no no, I wouldn't be offended if you'd like to delete my post.

However, since I have been playing casual games and cash games for so long now, I thought this would be a nice place to mention a game I get to be a part of - a dream I've had for years.

To cut a long story short - our game is called Gemmed!. We made it for iphone/itouch. We are planning on making a PC version as well, but that's later.

If any of you has iphone or know someone who has an iphone, and if you can check it out, tell me what you think, that'd be so great. The full version is $2.99, but you don't even have to buy the full version. We also have Gemmed Lite which has only 6 levels, but gives you the idea, and it's free. All you do is download it, play it and you can delete it if you don't like it. Just give us a 5 star rating and good review, if you think you can :P

Well, more than that, I am curious about what you guys think - being good casual game players. We think it's a lot of fun - but we might be biased. The game is very similar to Bejewelled. Actually, the gameplay is similar but the goal is totally different. While making matches, you are trying to rescue little monsters - each have power-ups. There are some other features but it'd take too long to explain here and i don't want to bore you guys.

Anyway - hope some of you can check it out. We also posted a small video of it on youtube if you want to see what it's about:

That's all. Ask me any question you want. Or tell me this is not the place to talk about subjects like this

Not at all! This is perfectly fine subject matter-- I'd even encourage it.

We just kinda' don't want people making threads to say "I just made a bajillion dollars! Buy my e-book to find out how!"

As far as the game goes, it looks like a lot of fun and like a really cool idea. I like the whole bit about freeing the creatures, using their abilities to help you. The only thing I might want to add is that the color tones are a little distracting, and I think it could be difficult to focus well. I would suggest maybe using fuller, more vibrant tones but without the "luster" effect. All the gem colors are geared towards one end of the color spectrum, is there a reason for that?

    Thanks for the feedback!

You have a point about the colors. In fact we have been getting a few requests for color blind people who cannot differentiate between the colors. We'll have to work on that, come up with different colors, maybe even different shapes for each color.

    Thanks again!

Really cute, and the game plays very smoothly. If I had an iPhone, I'd gladly pay $2.99 to have it.

Have you, your husband, and your friend thought of starting a skill gaming site from scratch? If all went well, you'd be earning a huge residual income for yourself and you'd have a platform to launch fun casual games such as Gemmed.

That's so great you brought that up!

Among us, I am the only one who plays cash games, or even casual games. They are into bigger games, mostly AAA titles - games that have special 3d effects, utilizes 3d engines, physics etc. Though, after seeing me play casual games, they understand how much fun casual games can be - it's entertainment without hours of commitment.

So, I have been talking to them about this idea of mine for the last year: to have skill a gaming site where we can introduce our games, and support independent game developers as well. I was thinking something in between WW or king.com, and pogo, and similar to what Big Fish Games does. So it'll be skill gaming, prize earning, and also just having fun playing different games kind of site.

Our plan is to have around 10 games like Gemmed, and then build a website like that. Then we'd have a nice amount to start with and we'd add new games ourselves or from any interested game developers. 10 games will take us around a year (even more) though. We'll see how everything goes
