Default Anyone into online poker? Casinos? Games of chance?

Just curious to hear if you guys are strictly skill gamers from places like king and WW. Do you delve into any online poker? Brick-and-mortar casinos? Live poker games? Other games of chance: craps, roulette, slots, etc?

If so, anyone had any luck or got any good stories re: these types of games?

When I turn 21 next year, I'll be hitting up Vegas and doing some Texas Hold'em. A lot of family members of mine have some great slot machine stories (one aunt won $9,000 playing nickel slots 3 months ago, lmao) so I'll be doing a few pulls in hopes of carrying on the family tradition of winning it big.

That's a LOT of nickels!! I'm hitting the casino tomorrow so hopefully I have some of her luck going on then. Never been to Vegas, though, so you'll have to let me know how loose/tight the players are there.

in my brief stint between finishing grad school and starting employment, I played poker "full time". In other words, I went to atlantic city (~30 minutes from my house at the time) every day from noon to midnight (or later if I was running hot). I made 7K (profit) in 2 months, including a 1st place tournament finish for 5K. I mainly played 1/2 NL holdem, 2/5 7cardstud, or <200$ tournaments.

    Online is a different story...
I played when I was in college and made enough to pay my bills (and more)...I won a huge tournament (20$ entry fee, 6K 1st place), and with my 6K I used to play at the 5/10 NL table (500$ buy-in). And was making a literal living.
However, for the past 4 years, my online experience has been very negative...I dumped a portion of it back (not really a lot of it, since now I play at lower limit tables, so it's not as bad).

I honestly refuse to play online anymore. I still do pretty well when I go to AC, but nothing like before...I think I'm just spread too thin otherwise, not able to concentrate and force myself to be patient like I used to...
    Poker tips:

    1. Be Patient.
    2. Trust your instinct (if your instincts are good)
    3. Before you do anything, play the hand from your opponents perspective. If something doesn't add up, use caution.
    4. Avoid calling out of position if possible unless you are trying to make a play on someone.
    5. In tournaments, play INSANELY AGGRESSIVE

That's awesome. I don't know if I have the patience to survive the wild varience that poker can bring.

How much does your friend play? Like 12 hours a day, 6 days a week?

patience is key... I think finding weak games in which to play is as important as anything else, too!
