    Default Scrabble Cube .50 Tourney

Does someone know what the top 20 scores in the .50 WW Scrabble Cubes tournament are right now?

I need to know if it's worthwhile to invest .50! I've only got $75 left and I need to invest very carefully.

What kind of scores do you average, if I may ask? Maybe I can help you make a wise investment.

I've been hovering around the 700 mark I'm guessing. A lot of times I don't put in the full effort because I know I don't have any money at stake so I kind of putter along and run out of time.

Last night I had 6 games in the 850 range after playing about 40 games. 3 or 4 of those games were 900 plus, if I hadn't been so slow. I left a whole slew of cubes on a couple of them and saw some good words I couldn't get to.

I saw some of you guys saying that you break 900 most of the time? I don't see on some of those puzzles how you could ever score that high the way the letters land sometimes. I'll get thru a cube sometimes thinking I found the best possible words and only score 500 or so, because I couldn't see JACK!

What kind of scores do you end up with when you get a lousy cube?

the 50c boards have been relatively strong, so there are a few 1100s. I'd save your money.

Personally, I almost never score below 750, even on the hideous of hideous...johan is probably similar...

Thanks for the info. I've got to figure how to get better scores, I'm TOO SLOW!

If they could just give me an extra minute, I'd be doing MUCH better!

Lost, it may seem like you have to rush to finish the cube, but Scrabble Cubes is a slow-paced game. I understand your situation, but try some warm-ups, and take your time.

Don't panic and stay at a calm pace, you'll find that finding longer words will be easier and that you'll have plenty of time.

Actually, I've got proof to the contrary on Johan, though it has definitely crossed my mind that my flukey early-round Survival win over him was due to a disconnect on his part.

It doesn't feel like a slow-paced game to me! I feel like I NEVER have enough time to find good words. I'm searching like crazy and always feel like I'm gonna miss a good word if I pick something out too quick.

I definitely waste WAY too much time when the game starts, when I probably should just jump on it.

Do you and the other REAL good players, like rahnnyboy, always clear the cube from front to back? Or do you just take words as you see them, no matter what cubes they're laying on?

I can see if you have a choice of a couple of good words that may be close in value, that you would pick the words that would make the most use out of your cubes. But... If you see a 7 letter word that might waste one double word score and one triple word score on the same turn, would you take the word, or spend your time trying to find a another word?

Did any of you guys play in that .50 tournament, and what places did you finish in?

What was score range for the top 20, if anyone knows?

I thought about trying one game for .50, but I was so slow and tired last night, I knew I probably wouldn't even stand a chance even if I ended up with a hot cube.

I took Rahnnyboy's advice and saved my cash!

Nope, I rarely have disconnections. Survivals get me sometimes, because I feel compelled to speed my way through the first 5 rounds to get back to where I was, but in doing that I end up butchering my game pretty bad and I just can't play well until I take a break and go do something else.

I also get tired sometimes and just can't function.
