I've made it up to 9,000 back in the day, but I can realllllllly try to go for a high score by spamming the golden special.

I remember finding a site that had a whole slew of games like that for download...the genre with super hard shooters is called "bullet hell" shoot em' ups.

The record high score for Nanaca is around that, I remember seeing a high score list from the "official" site a few years back. That's a lot of kicks to the face for the main character, geez!

Nanaca crash isn't morbid. For anyone who knows the plot behind it-- The guy being crashed has a biological abnormality that makes him invulnerable.

I've gotten ~31,000 with a legit version, but I don't take screenshots or any of that. It's all about knowing how to use specials properly, and timing your three active hits.
