I found this out today, I am SO EXCITED!! I tape the show in New York on August 24th, but I'm don't know when it will air. Wish me luck! And if you have any useless trivia or are an expert in a certain area, please feel free to share it with me.![]()

Awesome -- good luck!!
This was awesome to hear from you on Facebook. Plllllease don't be shy about uploading your taping on Youtube, I think everyone will get a huge kick out of seeing it.

Damn, congrats! That's awesome!
If you get on the hotseat and do some shoutouts, holla' at yo bois from the cashgamers forums
I have an unhealthy amount of knowledge revolving around math, language/word etymology, and planetary sciences, if you think any of those would be relevant.

They don't have the hotseat anymore. They just put people on, so I'm definitely going to be on the show. Actually any of those would be helpful, I need all the tutoring I can get! Thanks for the offer. And if anyone knows things about Star Trek, Star Wars, or recent Disney/Pixar/other kids movies, that'd be primo too. Those come up a lot and I know absolutely nothing about them.
Really? There's no win-your-way-to-the-hotseat process? It's just, straight into playing for the money? I guess the show's been around a while afterall...
Yuh, I wouldn't even know where to begin with, "This is important trivia to know", but I'll try to compose a little list of things I think are relevant (and things I've seen come up a lot on the show in the past.)
The only thing I'll say for now (because this is always relevant), the plural of octopus is not octopi, despite popular belief. It's octopuses. Whether or not the question-writers for the show know the difference in second-declension between greek nouns and latin nominatives is unknown though.
If it were latin, they'd be called octopods!

This thread is now a "post trivial information" thread!

Nope! The lifelines are different now too. No phone-a-friend or 50/50. The game structure is different as well. For the first 10 questions, the difficult of the questions and the prize values are both randomized. So theoretically, the first question could be the hardest and only worth $100, while the hardest question could be worth $25,000. The last 4 are the $100,000-$1,000,000 and are in the proper order. The lifelines are ask the audience, and you get 2 jump the questions. You can skip over and move to the next one, but you also lose the prize money associated with it.
Hm, that is good to know! I took anatomy in high school and had to memorize 500 Latin root words, I'm trying to compile a list of them now because that'd help with a lot of questions I think. There's a lot more pop culture on the show now too, I'm not so much worried about that because I love reading trashy celebrity magazines (<3 you, US Weekly!) but I haven't been to a movie in a theater in like a year and I don't listen to the radio, so current films or songs I'm not going to know. That should be fairly easy to study up on, though.
Ewww, trashy celebrity gossip...
At least the audience will know those ones 100%. Do they ask a lot of science-related questions anymore? What kind of tendencies do they have for that?
IGN: Meathook
You'd think, but the audience is stupid now! There was a question where literally 91% of the audience voted for one wrong answer. Of the remaining 9%, only 2% got it right. I'd be very hesitant to trust them. Not a lot of science-related questions, which is unfortunate, because I'm great at science. A t least life sciences, not so much physics, but biology I'd own the shit out of.
