Default New King Spinner, huge Top Winner tourneys

As I'm sure you've all seen, King has updated their freeroll spinner and has some huge Top Winner tourneys available as well. Some thoughts:

    1. THIS ROCKS. I just spun today and got the worst possible spin -- $2.80!! That's an awesome prize that used to be the highest amount you could win! The diamond spinner is now worth over a grand a year, easily!

    2. As far as the new $4.20 and $14 Top Winner tourneys go, obviously getting to enter them for free is fantastic! HOWEVER -- be careful before you put in any real money in those tourneys. The $14 Farm King tourney has a total prize pool of $14,000. That's a lot, but it's only 1000X the entry fee. You have to figure that, over the course of a week, the average Diamond VIP will get 1 free entry to the $14 tourney. For each 3-day $4.20 Top Winner tourney, the average Diamond VIP will get about one entry into that, too.

So you're looking at likely thousands of FREE entries into those tourneys. When added to the paid entries, you're likely looking at a huge number of entries compared to the payout. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see 5000+ entries, with 80%+ taken in "rake" (or, more correctly, never really given out on the spinner). So I would strongly suggest waiting until the end of those tourneys, looking at the scores, then deciding if you realistically think you can beat the rake to get into the top 100 and profit.

Does that make sense? Other thoughts from anyone?

Is anyone in one of the new Top Winner tourneys yet, and if so, are the top scores high yet?

WOWOWOWOWOWOW -- 460 comments of pure hatred on their blog. I posted one positive comment just to try to start turning the tide, but I think it's futile.

I hope the higher stakes spins have different games to choose from, though. I'm not particularly good in Pyramid, Love Me/Love Me Not, and that Seal Bubble game...

although I'm not going to pay $14 to play a tournament the farm king one looks reasonable as far as payout. if you can get a money score you can play up to 5 times and make back the entry fees. the 4.20 candy crush payouts are bunk. if you play twice($8.40) you need to be in top 90 just to make back the entry fee. personally I'm very hot or very cold in all my games,no consistency anymore, so I'm only going to play if I get a free entry.

I assume the games will rotate. For me, I can't play card games in MI, so that's just cash in my pocket (like today's $2.80). Apparently the complainers on the blog don't have options like that.

the big one right now is Farm King, and the medium ones are Candy Crush and Bubble Witch

You do have to admit this is pretty clever on King's part. If King can get 1000 paid entries in the $14 Farm King tourney so that they can break even, all of the freeroll spins they've given away for that tourney cost them nothing.

...the optimism of pacers101 and msufan cannot overtake the masses of angry, lousy players berating the new spinner on the blog!

I am seriously considering spamming that thread with like 50 sunshiney posts about how awesome this is. Should I go for it?

and how crazy high are the scores these people are complaining about? Do I need to throw $4.20 at the CC one just to find out, or is anyone in already?
