    Default US Govt cracks down on 3 major poker sites

    (Reuters) - The owners of three of the largest Internet poker companies operating in the United States were accused on Friday of tricking regulators and banks into processing billions of dollars of illegal Internet gambling proceeds.

    oh, and by the way, is the U.S. govt doing this for moral reasons? um, no. Actually, D.C. just passed a law making online poker LEGAL... they just want to be the ones to profit from it. So sick.

    wow, lame. i really hope legislation makes its way nationwide for online gambling...the government is so hard up for cash, yet it's too stubborn to impose taxes on probably one of the biggest streams of revenue active online

    I read the AP story, and looks like it would just apply to people living in DC. The DC lottery is working with some Greek company to set something up. Other than horrific real estate prices, crime, traffic, taxes DC is a great place to live. I enjoyed living there.
