Popcap and King.com end partnership

This announcement is not easy to make, as I know that some of you will be upset and angry. It was finalized very recently, and I wanted you to know as soon as possible.

The four Popcap games: Bejeweled 2, Zuma, Chuzzle and the two versions of Amazing Adventures will no longer be available on King after February 10th. All awards, Achievements and Diplomas will still be there, but you will not be able to play the games. Here are some suggestions on other similar games that you might like:
If you are into Bejeweled 2: try Farm King, Miner Speed and Crescendo Catcher.
If you like Zuma, try Luxor.
Chuzzle fans might like Storm Chaser.
For Amazing Adventures, we have a new hidden objects game coming up in late February, with 25 brand new backgrounds and thousands of objects.
We apologize for the inconvenience, since we know how much some of you love these games.

We have started developing some new titles which are similar in style to these games, so all is not doom and gloom. We also have 120 other games for you to enjoy right now.

Wow! I don't play their games all that much on King but this must suck for some of you.

WHOA. I hadn't seen this. Honestly, my rank was sent so high in BJ2 that this doesn't really affect me (except in regards to the annual Royal Cups I used to enjoy). My hope is that this spurs them to create a different match-3 game which I can then have a normal rank in!

Too bad. Does anybody know whether PopCap plans to pull their licensed games from WorldWinner, as well?

It's always about the money. I would guess that the agreement was up for renewal and Popcap wanted a higher per game cut of the revenue and King said no. You can bet King will be developing it's own hidden object game soon and there will be another match 3 game before too long.

What if king were trying to sell their own games to popcap's customers. Hence the fallout.

Umm....wow. I am very sure that they will be coming out with a BJ2/BJ Blitz clone (better than Midas Miner) to make up for the loss ASAP. That's a pretty big blow, though.

Agreed. In fact, it will probably save me money on the long run, as it seems like I lost my Bejeweled 2 skills completely, but still I pretend that I will be able to win one of the endless challenges I receive. Haven't been close to winning anything worthwhile for ages, though.

Still, it's sad to see it go. We should make a memorial thread with screenshots of our stats as the look the final day the games are up. (I won't be showing anything but B2, though, suck too much in the other games. )
