Default The Worldwinner & GSN W3 Games...whatever happened to that?

I just thought I'd bring this up as I'm reading through some press releases made by WorldWinner and King.com; do you guys remember the W3 games from last year and it not being a huge success? I remember Kavishah and Amy winning their respective games...was that for a $100,000 grand prize, or was that simply what the tournament pool amounted to? Also, why did the Big Money tournament get canceled?

There was no mention of the W3 this year, so I guess it's fair to assume that the tournament is getting scrapped for a while, lol. Just wanted to recall what happened with it being so hyped up.

It was $30,000 top prize for Bejeweled and Solitaire Rush-- supposed to be $30,000 for Big Money and Wheel of Fortune too, but they got canceled. Worldwinner hosted three of the W3 tournaments, a $100,000 (collective prizes) tournament for Solitaire Rush and Bejeweled, and a $10,000 competition ($3,000 top prize) for Scrabble Cubes. After the third month, they stopped the event and wrote it off as a loss. You didn't hear much about it because they kept it at a complete silence, and I was banned from their message board for asking about it, and my post deleted.

There were supposed to be 7 more tournaments each ranging from $10,000-$50,000 total prize pools, and 2 more tournaments at $100,000 prize pools that were scrapped. The only way you could have known this is to check the GSN W3 website where it said "$100,000 prizes for Solitaire Rush, Bejeweled, Wheel of Fortune, and Big Money!" and discreetly being changed to "Solitaire Rush, Bejeweled, and Big Money!" and then they went on to pretend the smaller W3's which were supposed to be held monthly no longer existed, that the tournament was only supposed to be the 3 big tournaments, and they advertised Big Money for the month of November, and it wasn't until the mid of November that they scrapped that too. They had a massive recruitment influx for the W3's, as the commercials were aired on GSN, but they never paid out-- isn't that false advertisement? Or false promotion or something?

Anyway, it probably got canceled because they saw a huge loss in the Scrabble Cubes W3 tournament. How do I know they saw a loss? Whoever scheduled it set it at 100 rewards points per entry into the qualifier, on a day that happened to have 20x multipliers, meaning each entry gave 2,000 rewards points for $1 entry. 2,000 rewards points equates to about $4's worth. They lost $3 on every entry, when the cost of the entries was intended to defray the $10,000 in prizes. Maybe they knew about this blunder or maybe not, but in either case they probably saw that they lost way too much money and decided not to do anymore.

So yeah, it got canceled and swept under the rug.

That's always a nice touch.. The person who just won the Dynomite survival has mysteriously gone 8 days offline.. The person who came in second was a bit angry you might say per some message board posts they made..

Not quite on the scale of winning a W3 tournament, but still a bit annoying.

$4.23 worth with the old rewards points redemptions. Yeah I was a benefactor of this loophole LOL. I hope I wasn't the reason why WW cancelled the rest of the W3 games.

Whether or not people were aware of it, Worldwinner was still losing $3 on every entry. So, 2,000 people casually entering without realizing the rewards points would still be costing them money, unless those players never cash out the rewards points.

    Default Actually...

it was $2.50/entry. So the loss per entry fee wasn't as great. Max was -$1.73/entry
