Animal Parade, still a trick to it?

I'm just wondering if there is still some other trick to this game.
Ofcourse they took out the fast clicking trick.
I receive lots of 100 player challenges at this game, and I get the same amount of animals, but am always near the bottom time-wise!

Surely all there is to it is this..
Draw dead straight lines to the food as soon as the animal comes on the screen?

Also if animals need to detour around each other, I detour zebras over penguins say, as that's worth more points.

I'm often like 100-300 points behind the lead which I can't see is possible without a trick.

Some people seem to have all the time in the world to play the games. I wish the playing field was equal.
