    Default Google Games

Flignats posted this on SA's twitter acct, and I thought I'd include it here as well:

Google Secretly Invested $100+ Million In Zynga, Preparing To Launch Google Games

It doesn't look like they're in the gaming-for-cash business though, unless I'm missing something.

Zynga make all those crappy Facebook games.
Maybe google can improve them, they turn everything they do into gold.
I think it would be exciting if they did go into cash gaming eventually.

Nah, they aren't into cash gaming, but, Google entering the gaming space has a big impact in a lot of areas. Also, Zynga, being social, gathers a ton of information on users, which is worth a lot. Google is in that information business and surely wants to get its hands on the data. But, it's only a small leap into the skill gaming space - and rightfully so, MSN, AOL, Yahoo, they all have skill gaming partnerships driving revenue.

unfortunately all through the same places... can you IMAGINE a new "games.google.com" site for cash games? WOW!! That would be incredible.

Well, you have to see their side of things too, skill gaming is not their core business (google, yahoo, msn, ect). A lot goes into a skill gaming community, maybe they would just purchase a pre-existing one or elect to use a third party like the others.
