Thread: How many people knew this?

Default How many people knew this?

Did you think WW's Zen Gems was original and creative? Kind of outside their element to be developing innovative games.

I found Zen Gems on another website, turns out WW didn't develop it.

    How many knew?

I like it. I only really compete in it on ladders because my luck in tournaments in it isn't so great....

I think it's a good skill game because it combines both strategy and speed. It's one of the few games that I'd play now and then for free/fun.

What I don't like about it is that I think it is heavily subject to the 'good setup' syndrome that WorldWinner has. For example in todays freeplay, I did pretty good the first time. But the second time despite knowing what board it was, I just did awful. The colors/balls it gave me just didn't fit the layout and I scored like 350 points less.

I think the last time there was a weekly progressive in it, my wife entered it. I think she said it was a fairly straightforward board, it wasn't one you just had to brute force and drop a billion balls. But it wasn't until the 3rd time she replayed that she had a chance to put up a score that would get paid. Something just seems wrong when you literally have 0 chance of winning on a board they give you and you have to keep replaying until they give you one you can make a high score in.

I do like that about king that if somebody beats you, you know it's because they played the same board better/faster than you did. None of this "well they just got a sweet setup" nonsense..

I did know... I have the download version of the game. I love the game, but it is most definitely a "luck of the draw" type game as far as set up goes. You have to play planning on entering multiple times to get the "good" board.

Overall, WW fails in that aspect. That's one of the things I really like about King/SA. Same board for everyone, which means the player who plays the best wins, not the one who spends the most money.

I wish in WW on every tournament they'd show how many times players have entered! There's always some satisfaction in knowing that the people who beat you actually lost more money than you did!!

thats why king will always win It truly IS fair in this regard. WW feels like playing a slot machine. whoever gets the best board in the random number generator wins, not the one with the most skill.

I think in the long-run the best players will always win at worldwinner. I think the randomness helps give the other players the feeling that they have a chance tho and maybe contributes to them continuing to throw money away looking for the sweet setup. Or convincing themselves that somebody else just got lucky.

not sure about the rest of you guys, but at king when my skill rank in a game gets to a certain point I know I'm not good enough anymore and I quit playing it. There's no fooling yourself that somebody got an easy setup! You just know there are too many people that are better than you....
