King: Keep the castle & just let us play!
Getting tired of not being able to play on King.com. Seems ever since they updated the site this week there have been problems. I love my new castle and the site layout is good but if this is what's causing problems, they can keep the castle. I got left out of the Freeroll yesterday due to site problems, it was Pyramid, my best game, I was so pissed!
I've been trying to wean myself from playing so much as it gets expensive. They are making it very easy for me to do this, are they trying to tell me something???

It's annoying, but I guess they're working hard to fix everything. In the end they are the ones losing money cause no one's playing cash games.
I just play other games while King is down.

Hopefully they update and put back one of the few useful things they added to the site, which was where you ranked among your friends and the top rank and high scores of the top 20 players in each game. Before the last update they tanked the calendar as well..... I was like no the only somewhat useful things they added have been pushed aside so the real housewives of king.com can have their castles.

Jeez, I'll never get to play the daily with the amount of time their maintenance is taking. SCREW THE CASTLES, NO ONE LOOKS AT OUR PROFILES ANYWAY!

LOL, King crashed my IE twice yesterday. I haven't logged on to the site in probably a month and when I saw all that crap they added was making it so I couldn't even play a game I just logged off again. I just want to play games... not build imaginary castles.

I have to say, it is interesting for me to watch and see the reactions. It makes me think about what direction is best and/or what opportunities they are leaving behind, consciously too..

I would imagine they could benefit, given their main player base. If all of the diploma hunts, etc have worked in the past, then people that play on their site obviously like to play for reasons other than $. I suppose it adds a competetive factor in being able to buy the biggest, best castle, or whatever. I just think the site is incredibly cluttered and hard to navigate. But, I am more of a "serious" skillgamer than probably the other millions of players who log onto their site on a daily basis. King is set up so your $ doesn't necessarily grow quickly but if you are an average player, it will last you a long time. To many players, who can't make a good profit but like the competitive edge of having $ involved, this is probably much appreciated.
I think for what King is trying to accomplish (from what I can see), all of these little "cute" aspects of their site are probably beneficial.

Reading this thread made me check out what the heck is going on over in king--it looks like they are trying to market the pogo players because this castle business is very similar to what a player can do with their pogo mini--- plus king is charging silver members to spruce up their castles faster which is also which is also similar to pogo. King must be trying get some loot out of their bazillion silver players as well as give them more features to fuck with so they stick around on site longer (although it's so fucking slow). In seems that the direction that king is heading is to be like pogo, gamesville, or even IWON however, king isn't doing all that contests/drawings hooplah, instead it's all cash games. And I wonder if they were doing that because sites like gamesville, pogo and IWON all link up to worldwinner for cash gaming and not king. Anyway, I bet King's next implementation will be chatrooms or something to spruce up chatting in the towns, then more shit with gifts and avatars....ugh! All that garbage. Ultimately, king will have people hanging around on the site being social, chatting & shit as well as lose money playing their low-profit tournaments. It's brilliant really, but not to attractive to anyone who is more focused on just gaming & making some green
