    Default Hey Everyone

I’ve been playing games on WW for almost 2 years now. I always played for free at first, but when I started getting messages after my games telling me that I could’ve won 97, 98, 99, and 100% of all recent cash games… I decided to try to play some games for cash.

I like Scrabble Cubes, Word Mojo, and Bejeweled the best so far out of the games I play, and I’m probably in the top 1% or so of players in Scrabble Cubes and Word Mojo. BUT… There’s still a slew of people that can beat me!

I started playing Scrabble Cubes in 2006 and was scoring consistently in the 700 point range, with my best games in the 900s and worst probably 500 point range. I was doing great when I first started playing for cash, probably because I was at rookie status. I worked myself up to an AMAZING $150 after playing around for a week (BIG money!) and now I’ve been slowly dwindling away! I’ve never cashed out anything and I’m down to $75!

I know I’ll never make a living playing games, but it’d be nice to be able to at least stay UP! It seems like I’m getting pitted against the toughest players in the game most of the time. There’s NO WAY I can win against some of you guys here! As a matter of fact, Johan (alias Meathook) has cleaned my clock in a bunch of games! I’m just wondering how they can pit me against 1000 – 1200 point players, when I’ve NEVER even broken 1000 and I’ve probably played this game a half a million times!

I saw Meathook at the top of the list for the free Scrabble Cube game a couple of days ago! Good job! I ended up finishing in 60th place! I did probably choke a bit on that game, but I scored about 710 on the 1st one and about 760 on the 2nd and only got 60th!

When they have the $.50 specials, I’ll jump in and play 6 or 10 games and I always finish JUST out of the money! I tried a Word Mojo and a Scrabble Cubes $.50 tournament and ended up finished in the 20s on both of them, just enough to get NOTHING!

You guys are walking dictionaries with the ability to spot CRAZY words! I think they need more levels when playing against other people. How do they expect me to beat people like Johan and Rahnnyboy? That’s NUTS!

I’ve lost so many games in the last month or so, I’ve become gun-shy now about even trying to play cash games, because I don’t want lose all my tiny profit. Between Word Mojo and Scrabble Cubes I’ve probably won 3 or 4 games out of the last 40 or so! What burns me is I’ll play a GOOD game for me, like a 2000+ in Word Mojo or an 850 in Scrabble Cubes and think I’m gonna get a win… Then get BLOWN out by a 2300+ or 1000+ score! Then I’ll play another game score a 1500 on WM and figure I’ll be blown out and someone edges me out with a 1530! What’s up with that!?

I really like to play Bejeweled 2, but I’m not very good at it. I’m trying to work on my strategy to get those hyper-cubes faster, but I think I’m wasting too much time. When I was just grabbing for any cube as fast as I could, I was getting 4-6000 point scores here and there. Now that I’m actually trying to get hyper-cubes I’ve only gotten an occasional 5000 plus score.

You guys are REALLY good at these games! I hope if I keep working on them, I’ll improve. Seems like a lot of days my mind is in slow-mo mode and there’s NO WAY I can compete when I’m just staring at the board struggling to find stuff! Thanks for all your helpful tips, I’ll be looking for more.

Hey LostInSpace, great intro! I agree with Scrabble Cubes needing more levels/rank divisions. I'm in the same spot as you -- I'm in the high ranks too, but there's no way I can contend with the regular top players in cash games. How should we address this?

Bejeweled on Worldwinner is kinda hit or miss...the better player wins in the long run, but I find having to go after hyper cubes & big chains to be moreso based on luck. If you want to play Bejeweled for cash, give King.com's version of Bejeweled a try...once you're used to their version's rules, you'll find your scores to be much more consistent.

Thanks for joining us, and hope to see you around!

    Hi Ikaruga!

I'll have to check king.com, I've never been there before.

Doesn't worldwinner just have 3 rankings? Beginner, intermediate, and advanced? If that's all they have, that's a LOT leeway between rankings! I don't know why they couldn't at least have levels of like 1-10.

That way, someone like you or me might get put in the 9 range, instead of the 10 range, where we might win one out of 3 games, instead of one out of 20 games if we're lucky! I know it feels like a bummer when I feel like I played a great game and get BLASTED out by a score 100-200 points higher than I've EVER scored in my life!

I sure wish I could see the words like some of these guys. They have SUPER-Scrabble vision! Even some of the words I've seen time and time again, I get mixed up on what suffixes will go and what won't. Then if you decide to check it, you've blown 15 or 20 seconds that's probably going to cause you not to be able to finish the game or have to miss good words at the end, because you don't have time to find them.

Also, I wonder why Word Mojo will take words that Scrabble Cubes won't and vice-versa. I'm pretty good at the 3 letter words (that's about the only length that I know 99.5% of them!) and I noticed that fab will work in SC, but not in WM. Then words like lez and von will work in WM and not in SC. I know there's others, but I can't remember off-hand! I end up wasting points if I use one in SC that won't go. At least on WM it'll light up if it'll go so you don't waste the letters.

WM uses a dictionary that is 2 updates too old...scrabble cubes uses the newest dictionary with all the offensive words removed...

things like FAB, QIS, ZAS, EMAIL will work in SC but not WM...and the ones removed like EMF, VON, will work in WM but not SC...

Thanks! I just learned three new 3 letter words I didn't know existed... ZAS, EMF, & QIS!

Now I just have to keep straight which ones to use in SC since you don't get any notification whether you have an excepted word or not.

Say, did you used to play tangleword on games.com? Your name seems really familiar and I used to play that game a lot.

Also, how can you remember all the REALLY obscure words? Do you study over some of the higher point lettered words, with Zs, Qs, and Xs, or can you just remember them?

I have a hard time remembering the strange ones unless I use them all the time. I had to subsist on looking for ing, ers, ier, tion, able, itch, atch, etc. Even looking for common words makes my eyes glaze over every now and then.
