    Default Serious Money Issue

I got to King.com from Shockwave. In fact, my Shockwave username and password allowed me to sign in to King.com. I deposited $5 and started playing.

Now the problem. I told my daughter how much I liked it and she went to try it out and got a free one week trial and then become a member offer. Which she did, paying them $30. But while she got lots of access, she had no bankroll. So, she deposited $5. All is well, right? No, all the things she had for her $30 disappeared. What's worse, her computer has proprietary info on it because of her work and for whatever reason she cannot play the games there.

SO - they want a $1 to give her the money back she deposited to play AND ARE TELLING HER SHE HAS TO MAKE A NEW ACCOUNT TO GET IT TO BE THE WAY IT WAS - WHICH MEANS PAYING ANOTHER THIRTY DOLLARS.

This is wrong. Or, in the words of my gaming confreres: WTF KING?

There was nothing written anywhere that said she was completely sacrificing her $30 membership to give them $5. How can it be they cannot restore her account to it's previous settings?

So my question is: is there an actual rep from King.com who posts here? I just can't believe there is no way to rectify this.

We both really love the games here but I'm beginning to think we've both made a huge mistake.

There are no king representatives here. It's purely a fan-made forum. There are lots of king.com players here though, who may have experienced similar problems and have advice.

I'm not a king player, but from what I hear they're more proactive in handling these situations than their competition (Worldwinner), so I wouldn't give up all hope just yet.

Well - I didn't know it existed, either. She said she played some free games, they sent her a message that said she could have a week free and then be a paying member - like Shockwave. I guess she thought it was what I had and signed up. So she really liked the games and paid for a year. On that membership, she can earn Awards without playing cash games and earn Stars by playing games - no cash involved. She doesn't have the same profile features, it was confusing. We thought if she just deposited $5, then she'd have the same access I do, plus. But it was a mess.

I am happy to report that King.com did refund the $5 in full, and said within 24 hours her $30 account would be restored.

Which really made me very happy, I am a cash gamer and like what I have and she is just obsessed and likes playing. We won't ever be able to play together which is what I was hoping for, but they did finally get it straightened out, assuming her account is back tomorrow. I've decided to have faith! I guess she could open a second account and just stick $5 on it, though if we want to play. I wonder if that's allowed?

Thanks for the responses, going to look around the forums now, I have many questions.

Thanks, I see you are an admin. I was really glad to find a forum for this. I believe I'll go start asking my many questions right away!

Sounds like one of those pay for subscription accounts, with the green account icon?
Silver accounts play for free and Gold accounts are the full one where you deposit cash to get it.

I'm not actually sure of the point of those green accounts, if you're putting money into the site, why would you not want a gold account with the option of free play and cash play when you're good at a game?

You can have 1 cash account account per person, again, I'm not sure where those subscription accounts come in, maybe someone can clarify.
If you both play from the same PC, you may be asked to prove you're two different people at some point (if you win some cash), but that should be ok as you are

In the past King offered those subscription accounts to countries/areas where gold memberships weren't allowed. It was just a way people could get some of benefits of a gold account (no adds, diplomas…etc) and king could still get money.

I think there were some glitches because of promotions king offered through various affiliates/vendors where people could purchase this subscription account, even if they were in an area where gold accounts were permitted—but king only wanted players to have the option of either gold or subscription accounts, not both. So this could be a similar situation...

They did restore her count, she did tell me they called it a subscription. I'm no expert but I do know a lot of people would rather have what she has. They want the fun, they want to challenge themselves and get trophies and such and they want to have community and competition without the kinds of attitude and corruption that accompany all cash gaming online that I know about.

King and other sites are going to get hit by the UIGEA in the US sooner or later or other regulation if and when it's replaced. A large subscription base seems to me to be a smart business safety net.
