Yes, gaming mice can make a big difference, at the very least, with the level of precision with which you can adjust them. But, responsiveness can also be greatly improved with a good gaming mouse.

Camarofire, I think the Razer Lachesis is a great mouse with a relatively small profile. It does not have the option for weight adjustment, but IMO the weight takes a relatively short time to get used to, but the overall size you just can't adjust.

For action games, a gaming mouse is essential.
Moving non-gaming mice too fast confuses them and the cursor will go all over the place.
A gaming mouse wont care how fast you move the mouse, it will be accurate.
Also acceleration just causes you to have 2 variables (distance + speed) to worry about instead of just 1 (distance) to hit a certain point with the cursor - I can't see why anyone would make it more difficult for themselves by having that on.

I use a Lachesis and I love it. I'd definitely recommend a gaming mouse to people. The real trick is to find the right one for you. Go somewhere that they'll open the boxes and at least let you see, if not hold the mice before you buy.

I have big hands, gaming mice fit easily in them, but there are small gaming mice out there as well if you look. You absolutely have to make sure a mouse fits your hand properly before you buy it. Once you do that, you'll see a massive performance increase with a gaming mouse.
