Very interesting topic--but I think a given with anything mainstream is that becomes very watered down & commercialized. So yah, it would Hannah Montana galore. As far as skillgamers getting more notoriety, that is just something that would require a united effort. Are there any skill gaming leagues? Once people establish a group with criteria instantly there is a sense of credibility surrounding said people--and credibility get the masses respect/attention so there would be more of an interest with the skillgaming professional (hope this wordiness is clear).
Skill gaming appeals to the "gambler" in me more than the "gamer" and I don't know if that is the general consensus but often I think that why if skill gaming doesn't seem as sportsman-like as just gaming. Aside from the wide-spread cheating just to earn a quick buck, there's also question with the integrity of the different gaming sites. Are they really providing a safe and fair place for me to compete, and so on an so forth...Anyway, that is a lot of rambling but I over think everything

Ultimately, the skill gaming industry seems to have come quite a ways since I dabbled in it of it but it' is just one small facet of online gaming as a whole and I don't think it needs to be more than that.
For record, I've been skill gaming since '93, predominately word games and sadly enough, I still suck...but it's all good fun.
